AMHRI Urges UN Human Rights Council to Hold Urgent Session on Iranian Aggression
The Association Ma’onah for Human Rights and Immigration (AMHRI) has announced the submission of a formal request to the United Nations Human Rights Council to convene an urgent session to address the serious escalation resulting from the ongoing Iranian military aggression against the Gulf States and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The Association stressed that the attacks targeting energy infrastructure and civilian areas constitute a grave violation of international law, a clear breach of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and a direct threat to the right to life and security.
AMHRI called upon the international community and the Human Rights Council to adopt a firm and decisive position, including:
• Convening an urgent Special Session without delay
• Establishing an independent international investigative mechanism
• Ensuring the protection of civilians
• Holding Iranian officials accountable for the violations
The Association further emphasized that international silence at this critical stage may contribute to entrenching impunity and undermining the international order based on the rule of law.
